They say one returns to the places where memorable moments were lived. This time, we find ourselves back for the second round of the most spectacular display of light and color during the New Year’s celebration in Rio de Janeiro – to be precise, at a privileged location overlooking the Copacabana Bay. This spot annually attracts millions of visitors who come to celebrate ‘Reveillon.’ We boarded early in the day, meticulously preparing every detail for what would be a fully packed operation. On this occasion, not a single cabin was unoccupied, the first indication of a party that can only be experienced aboard Desire Cruises.

With all our guests on board, it was time to officially welcome everyone and raise a toast! Against a phenomenal sunset, we geared up for a grand start, Brazilian style. Our cabaret was brimming as we witnessed a small Rio carnival. Ten stunning dancers, adorned in Desire style, captivated us to the beat of a truly Carioca percussion and wind ensemble – a perfect beginning. This was followed by the unveiling of our Playroom, sporting a new look each night, catering to the preferences of both newcomers and seasoned Desire enthusiasts.

The Azamara Quest team, poised, punctual, and efficient, weighed anchor as always to commence our itinerary exploring new ports along the Brazilian coast: Ilhabela, Santos, and Paraty – charming little ports surrounded by mountains and incomparable landscapes, setting the stage for our farewell to the South American route. We sailed through waters seemingly stirred by our departure, preparing us for dancing and revelry, Desire-style, at our sensual and fun-filled Pool Parties.

Punta del Este, a prior stop where we enjoyed half a day to recharge from the previous nights, which had been long, enjoyable, and full of sensuality and eroticism. With mixed feelings, we arrived in Buenos Aires, bidding farewell to old and new guests, promising a swift return to this continent brimming with joy and color. For now, our route takes us to Europe and new ports, anticipating what will undoubtedly be a soon return so our Latin friends can help us showcase the warmth of the American continent and its seas.
